Tea Loves Thee

By Rachel Hoyt

How does tea love thee?  Let us count the ways.

Tea loves thee through taste and warmth and peace

And ability to cause deterioration to cease

As you tip toe towards the golden days.

Tea loves thee so the you in you stays

Quiet and calm, like glowing candle light.

Tea loves thee deeply, like carrots help sight.

Tea loves thee sweetly, like a vitamin packed fruit.

Tea loves thee by making some lung damage moot.

Whether on ice or hot, or through some altered state,

Tea loves thee with a love you can’t refuse.

If you sip it, tea becomes your best mate,

Sending you antioxidants in slews.

Tea surely dost love thee.

WOW

Rachel, Tea loves thee and Me,
I am hopelessly devoted to tea.
Take away all my riches,
if you please, but leave with me,
my hot cup of tea :)
